Brasil - Norway 1 :: 1

WTF???Norway played as well as could be expected. After all, Hareide can't choose to leave out the good players like Dunga obviously can. So it ended with a draw, again, against Brasil's B-team (neither Kaká, Ronaldhino, Ronaldo or Dida played :( ). I've got to say though, that Norway is the only team in the world that Brasil have yet to beat. They've either won or played like today (1-1). For some insanely weird reason :-PNorway wasn't bad today though, but against that team, they should've won. Gamst Pedersen's goal was superb and Riise had a rather good opportunity near the end. But alas. Hæstad was also rather agressive and good, didn't come near the goalposts though.And Ferguson didn't want Solskjær to get overworked, so he was only allowed to play the first half, in which he almost scored, but was cut off by the Brasilian keeper. Of the Brasilians, Cicinho reminded me of Rooney (a bit too agressive). He had a few chances, but he didn't seem to grab them. Lúis was quite good, but the whole team in general lacked in team-spirit, eagerness and playfullness, the treats they're known for. Plus, they were a bit too afraid to move over to the other half of the field. Not close to how they played in the WC. Not that that was anything spectacular either, but..Anyway, creds to Norway for not loosing.

I heart having you on my flist, because reading your ramblings about football makes me feel like I'm allowed to ramble about baseball. This is good, because my usually underdog team is to fantastically this season!METS!that is all =)

Queenie, dear... as a Brazilian myself I have to say:a) Yay to Norway!! Have I ever told you that I made quite some cash back in 1994 World Cup when I bet Norway would beat Brazil? No? Well, I still bet on them :Pb) Brazil is not the best team in the world. Maybe some of the best players have been born here, but they've given in to what football really means down here: money. Therefore, there can't be a team when one player wants to overshadow the others.If anyone wants to bet in Brazil, play safer and bet on volleyball :PThere... I had to say it. Even though I shouldn't be here... er... don't tell my shrink.

I guess that in the end they're no different from the others in that way.. But I loved the team of 2002 and '98. Really. Loved. Them. That was real football, not the nazi-kind of playing that the europeans are often up to. They were playing with the ball, like it was what it is; a game. Fun. A good time. It was pure joy to watch them, because it all looked so easy.A couple of the players are still like that, and I hope that I'll sometime enjoy watching them play as much as I did then.

They really should've. But we're still living on the game in '98, when we beat Brasil, and if we can't move on from that soon, the team will never be as good as they actually were back then.
